Now we have lost almost all the good managers one by one.
Some of them just could not break their code of ethics,
they just could cope with the dullness and anarchic methods of management in place.
On befalf of other work colleagues I would like to express our appreciation to those managers
who managed to be human against us, the simple workers.
This appreciation was long due to them...

Sad to say that we are left with bunch of ruthless and uneducated people
who rule the warehouse right now
.
But on the other hand - there's no one else
but only ourselves to blame for this...

Idea Idea Idea
Now with this I would like to open the discussion
about some curious and less curious incidents at work..

Maybe we can even create our own folklore about the work?

Now check this out!

I am coming back from my meal break,
the clock (analogue) is showing "22:37"
- the manager marks a time on my time-sheet "22:40"...
...and then asks "why are you late??".
(Funny man, huh?)
I said I probably wouldn't if you would note the correct time on my time-sheet....
"So why are you late??"
(at this point I started to think that he's a bit dull though...)
I said "Probably I won't be able to explain to you only because you won't understand..."
"So what time is it?" he asks.

[Oh oh, let's stop a while. Maybe that was the real reason I thought,
maybe if he would ask me straight away - I would tell him the time,
and there wouldn't be such problem?? Maybe the only reason we
have inaccurate time marked - is that managers are too busy
and they are just guessing the time..?]

"22:38" I say..
"It's 22:40" he disappoints me.
"Well, it's nearly 23:00" I add.
"What do you mean?" manager confused..
"Whatever.." ...
...at this point I realised that not having proper grade in teaching
others the essence of time, and if has not been thaught it already,
then I won't have much success in "passing my knowledge" to him...

I was totally shocked with this!!
One mate was passing by - and I asked him what time the clock
on the wall shows..?
"22:39" he replied.

Idea Idea Idea
Later I figured out a system for the managers which are struggling with
the understanding of simple notion of time..
It has not been yet approved yet though - so use at your own risk! Wink

First step:
Just sit down still for about 5 minutes.. (let somebody who understands the clock to do the timing).
2nd step:
Just sit down still again for 5min, and look at the clock carefully.
If you haven't noticed a change - ask somebody you trust to assist you.
That "somebody" is needed to be someone who understands the clock more or less perfectly.
The "trust" bit is needed only for the purpose to build your self-confidence,
and to ensure there is no cheating around.
3rd step:
At this point you should have realise that the "minute-hand" IS MOVING..
Step 4:
By now you should have noticed that in every 5 minutes there are 4 little marks which correspond with 1 minute splits.
If you don't have those marks, then you probably would need more advanced training but you can check Step 5 (at your own risk).
Step 5:
Now split those 5 minutes in 5 equal bits..
It's the same like you split pizza with the exception that you split pizza in 4 or 8 pieces.
If you feel that you are struggling, ask help from an ordinary picker - they definitely will be able to help you on this!
And note: It doesn't neccessary mean that you have to do that in 1 day...just take your time - don't worry, people will understand..

Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation
If at any time you feel you are struggling with time perception, ask a help from a picker!
Or you can ask for a transfer to a department where the implication of time is less important at work.

a section manager about something...

At one point she said "That is discrimination!!"
And ya know what the manager replied...?
"YOU ARE NOT BLACK."

Well, imagine now what level of education the managers have...
