|
|
If you do not have a GP, you must get one - even if you have a family doctor back in your country (Poland, Latvia, Lithuania or Slovakia).
The GP (i.e. General Practicioner = Family Doctor) services are free.
There are 3 ways to get registered with a GP:
• Go to the nearest GP, and ask if they have free spaces. If they admit new patients for register, that means you'll be able to sign up with them.
• You can call to Northampton NHS Primary Care Trust on 01604 615000 and ask them to send a GP application form named "REQUEST FOR GP ALLOCATION FORM" to your address.
• Or you can get such from at General Hospital Accident and Emergency Department.
Your GP will be able to help you if run into problem with your health.
If for any reason you get ill or sick - your GP will be able to write a doctors note which you will need to hand in to your employer.
Take the necessary care for your health and do not delay your visit with your GP if you have health problems!
N.B. If you are not registered with your GP, and should you need urgent help / attention - you might wait up to 8 hours in Accident & Emergency Department....
